I have seen a couple of people post videos and blogs about what it is like to be a dog walker, and that helped me when making my decision to apply. I am a dog walker through the company that basically acts as Uber for dogs. A customer requests a walk through an app, and then walkers in the area respond.
It’s right for me for a couple reasons. I wrote a post earlier about the problems about working a nine to five job with reoccurring depression. Being a dog walker lets me make my own hours, which helps me when I am struggling with depressive episodes. I have always loved animals and being around them brings me comfort. Plus, since I started going back to school again, I can work around my class schedule easily.
This job is certainly not for everyone, you do not always have a set schedule and have to be self motivated to find jobs, but it is right for me. Something that becomes particularly clear to me when I am greeted with happy doggy grins on a daily bases.
What do you do when you have no idea where your life is going?
If you have the answer, let me know.
